Support Your Immune Health

Treatments to Explore at The Wellness Lounge

When Alaska’s colder months arrive, taking care of your health becomes even more intentional. Busy schedules, less daylight, and seasonal illnesses can make it harder to get the rest and recovery your body needs.

At The Wellness Lounge, we approach immune health as part of your overall well-being. Alongside sleep, nourishing food, hydration, and appropriate preventive care, we offer treatments you can discuss with our team, from sauna and nutrient IVs to ozone and NAD+.

Each option has a different purpose, and the evidence behind them varies. Here’s what to know when building your seasonal wellness plan.

Sauna: Make Space for Regular Recovery

There’s something especially welcome about stepping into a sauna on a cold Alaska day. It offers a dedicated pause in your routine, a chance to warm up, unwind, and make recovery a habit.

Researchers have also explored whether regular sauna bathing affects respiratory illness. One small study found fewer colds among people who used a sauna regularly, but larger studies are needed before we can confidently recommend sauna for preventing illness. Sauna should not be considered a treatment for an active infection.

For your wellness routine, consistency and comfort matter more than pushing through intense heat. Stay hydrated, choose sessions you tolerate comfortably, and skip the sauna when you have a fever or are dehydrated. Ask your provider about suitability if you have a medical condition that affects heat tolerance.

IV Therapy: A Personalized Approach to Fluids and Nutrients

Adequate nutrition is essential for normal immune function. Vitamin C and other nutrients help your body maintain its natural defenses, and correcting a deficiency can be an important part of supporting your health. More nutrients, however, do not automatically mean stronger immunity.

IV therapy delivers fluids and selected nutrients directly into the bloodstream. Whether that approach is appropriate depends on your medical history, hydration status, nutritional needs, and treatment goals.

At The Wellness Lounge, the conversation starts with choosing a treatment that fits you. An IV can be considered within a broader care plan, with realistic expectations about what it can accomplish.

Our Cold Buster: Featuring 10 Grams of Vitamin C

Our Cold Buster IV features 10 grams of vitamin C, a nutrient involved in normal immune function and antioxidant protection.

IV administration produces higher blood concentrations of vitamin C than oral supplementation.Research showing modest reductions in cold duration largely involves regular oral supplementation; those findings cannot be assumed to apply to a 10-gram IV.

Ozone: Understanding an Investigational Option

Ozone is another treatment offered at The Wellness Lounge that patients may ask about when exploring integrative care.

Ozone is the gold standard for autoimmune disorders in Europe. It acts as an anti viral, anti bacterial, anti fungal, and anti parasitic agent in your body. Working with the intelligence of your body to super oxygenate your system, while your body uses the third oxygen molecule to attach unwanted pollutants.

NAD+: Cellular Energy and Emerging Research

NAD+ is a molecule naturally present in your cells that participates in energy metabolism. That biological role has generated interest in NAD+ infusions for wellness and recovery.

However, the role of NAD+ inside the body does not establish the benefits of giving additional NAD+ through an IV. Human infusion research remains limited, and NAD+ has not been shown to prevent respiratory infections or strengthen immunity. Early studies have examined metabolism and tolerability rather than demonstrating those outcomes.
